Calm waters, crystal clear visibility and a bulletproof dive plan might make for the perfect underwater adventure, but accidents can happen, even to the most experienced divers. Whether you're learning or you’ve done hundreds of dives, World Nomads travel insurance can help take the pressure off you and your family if the unexpected sinks your next dive trip.
As passionate divers ourselves, we’ve designed our plans to cover dives from the Great Blue Hole to The Yongala*.
*Note: All plans are different and may require an additional premium when going scuba diving to specific depths. Terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions apply. Read the policy wording carefully to choose the right plan and/or adventure sport option for your trip.
For more information on what you may be covered for you can read our Helpdesk article on coverage when scuba diving. Make sure you add in your country of residence in the country picker for accurate information.
Because we know that scuba diving equipment, such as scuba tanks, fins BCD and regulator, underwater film and photography equipment, can be expensive, we can offer cover for high-value items.
If your baggage and scuba diving gear is delayed, lost and/or damaged by a common carrier, you must report the incident as soon as possible to a responsible officer for the carrier. Get a Property Irregularity Report, or a similar official report, in writing and make a claim directly with the carrier before making a claim on this policy.
Your coverage will vary according to your Country of Residence and whether you choose a Standard or an Explorer Plan. Read your policy wording for details on maximum benefit limits, exclusions, and the terms and conditions of your coverage.
Both Standard and Explorer Plans can offer cover for many activities. The Explorer plan can offer higher benefit limits and cover for a broader range of activities and sports.
Travel insurance tip: to have cover for an adventure sport or activity, you may need to add it to your policy or select a plan with more benefits/coverage and pay an extra premium. Cover will also depend on your Country of Residence. Remember, you can’t upgrade your coverage after you buy, so it’s important to get this right on the first go.
There are several factors that may affect how much you’ll end up paying for your travel insurance. Depending on what your plans are, where you are going, optional extras like cover for specific activities, the prices may vary due to the following:
This is only a summary of cover and does not include the full terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of the policy. You should read your policy wording in full, so you understand what is and isn’t covered. That way there won’t be any surprises if you need to use it. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
