You’re excited, you’ve got your overseas trip booked and you’re all ready to go… then you find out you’re pregnant. You're super excited but worried about what this might mean for your trip away.
Don’t worry – this doesn’t mean you have to cancel your trip as many of our World Nomads travelers are pregnant when they travel overseas.
You do however need to check your policy as there are some additional conditions and exclusions that apply if you’re pregnant and vary depending on how far along you are.
Timing is everything in this world and so it is with your pregnancy and travel. Check your policy closely as insurance coverage depends on how many weeks pregnant you are and your country of residence.

In addition, if you have to cancel your trip because you're unfit to travel and the doctor signs off on it, you may be covered for your pre-paid, non-refundable transport and accommodation costs.
If you travel while pregnant outside the coverage timeframes you will not be covered. In addition, you will not be covered for:
This is not a full list of what's covered and what's not covered so if you’re pregnant, have read your policy and are still unif you’ll be covered, call our team who will be able to help.
Insurance coverage depends on how many weeks pregnant you are so check your policy closely which will specify the pregnancy milestones you need to be aware of.
In addition, World Nomads will not cover any pregnant travellers for medical and maternity assistance including and after:
There are a number of conditions of cover you must meet to be eligible for insurance cover. These include:
