Nothing beats heading down a mountain or cross country with your lunch in your backpack and your feet peddling you onwards. We’ve put in place plans that cover mountain biking on and off road up to 6000 metres in elevation – you just have to make sure you purchase the right level of cover for the ride you’re planning.
The mountain is in sight, you’re peddling hard and waiting for the rush… now is not the time to wonder if your travel insurance covers you.
- Plan cover: As long as you’re not doing anything stupid, like riding without a helmet or under the influence of drugs or alcohol, World Nomads Standard and Explorer Plans cover mountain biking (on and off road or downhill) for elevations up to 3000 meters.
- Available Upgrade: If you’re the adventurous type and think you’ll need to go higher, you can upgrade your cover before you leave home for elevations up to 6000 meters.
- Exclusion: No matter how safe you are, we won’t cover any mountain biking on the infamous Death Road – otherwise known as Yungas Road in Bolivia.
- Incidental to the trip: We only cover mountain biking that is incidental to your holiday – that means you only plan to cycle or go mountain biking for a day or two here and there and you’re not using a bike as your main mode of transport while on your travels.
