When a condition is truly life-threatening and the local hospitals can't look after you, or if we decide you need to be bought home for further treatment, there's cover in World Nomads travel insurance policies to bring you home to recover. It's important to note that you need to contact our emergency assistance team before making any plans, regardless of what your treating doctor says. I was snowboarding on a marked trail on Blackcomb Mountain when I caught an edge and had a significant fall. I immediately felt intense pain, and was quite winded for several minutes. I made my way down the mountain and went to the medical center, where they discovered, after doing a number of tests, that I had torn my left kidney.
