Coronavirus (COVID-19) travel restrictions in Moldova – updated 8 October 2020

From 1 September, travelers from countries with a low epidemiological COVID-19 risk (classified as green areas) are allowed to enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The list will be updated every two weeks on Friday on the Moldovan Border Police website (click the pdf link at the bottom of the page), where you will also find a detailed list of exceptions to the entry ban.

  • Arrivals from green zone countries will have their temperatures checked, and if they aren't showing symptoms of COVID-19, will not be required to complete the Epidemiological File or self-isolate for 14 days
  • Entry is forbidden for most foreign nationals traveling from countries classified as the red zone. If you are eligible to enter from a red zone country, you must sign the Epidemiological Record and a Declaration on your responsibility to comply with 14 days of self-isolation.

Entry into the separatist region of Transnistria will be refused to all travelers from countries affected by COVID-19.

Emergency measures in Moldova

From 1 November, the state of emergency applies to select territorial administrative units that have been identified as "code red" due to high COVID-19 infection rates.

Depending on the classification of each region, preventative measures are determined by codes red, orange, yellow and green.

It is mandatory to wear a face mask in public spaces where physical distancing of at least 3ft (1m) cannot be followed.
